- Alright, whoever is reading this. You have gotten hold of something
- precious. No, not moneywise. But precious anyway, at least, to me.
-
- Port is a program which I coded in assembler. Port is a program to convert
- and optimize text-files. A very clever one at that, if I might add.
-
- It's a program that was developed with great devotion and love. Take a look
- at the history file, you'll see.
-
- It's probably the longest coding effort I have ever done.
-
-
- The source-code is beautiful, lots of commenting, clear and so on.. And the
- code itself is very good, I never heard of any but most, most minor bugs
- after releasing the binary, long time ago.
-
- But the work which I put into releasing a perfect Port V2.00, apparently
- burned me out. I never coded a byte of Port afterwards.
-
-
- As I said, it is a precious piece of code. But my time at coding it has
- passed. What a waste it is to hold to myself, things being that way. So I'm
- releasing it, on the hope that someone will like it enough to continue it.
- I grant all rights to the source-code included, as long anything derived
- from it is released either as freeware or PD.
-
-
- Take a look around. I think you will find lots of interest. If you actually
- decide to take on this task, please send me a note. I would very much
- want to hear from you, then.
